Visual Arts Proposals for Our Gallery at Taman Jurong

Taman Jurong Community Art and Culture Club is calling for Artist for participatory visual arts projects for Taman Jurong neighbourhood, in 4th-year open run.

A collaboration between National Arts Council and Taman Jurong Community Arts and Culture Club, Our Gallery at Taman Jurong seeks to engage Taman Jurong residents in visual arts projects facilitated by artists, promoting exchanges & fostering appreciation in the visual arts, culminating in collaborative artworks in green spaces within Taman Jurong.

Sculpture for Adoption — Yew Tee Primary School

Yew Tee Primary School is calling for proposals of existing sculptural artworks, for the school to adopt for display.

Yew Tee Primary School is currently home to “Gallop to Great Distance” by Chua Boon Kee, and the school is interested in displaying more 3D artworks to better the school’s learning environment. The adopted artwork will be displayed outside the school’s Performing Arts Studio, that is close to a rainforest type garden setting meant for science and aesthetics education.

Polar Rhapsody — International Ice Carving Festival

The International Ice Carving Festival “Polar Rhapsody” is Yamal’s annual cultural event. The main ideas of the Festival are to promote and further develop the ice carving art, to support and present the existing ice carving schools.

The Festival is organized by the Government of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District. Since 2001 more than 100 professional artists from Austria, Armenia, Belarus, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Singapore, the USA and Ukraine have taken part in “Polar Rhapsody”.

Artist Residency at Art Ichol- Madhya Pradesh, India

A group of 3-4 artists each from Sculpture Society (Singapore) and India will have the opportunity to explore, exchange and experiment in an exciting and well-equipped environment. The focus of the residency will be on making site-specific works or an installation to be set in the outdoor space at Art Ichol. The residency will be free of charge and work produced will be part of their permanent collection.

The residency program provides the space, tools, and inspiration for artists to experiment and produce works in stone, bronze, clay, and other media. Sculpture, is the primary focus at this residency though they often have artists from other visual medias as well as the literary arts as residents too. They also provide on-site artist aids and technicians allowing artists to work in mediums outside of their specialty. With their guidance, residents will have the opportunity to try different art techniques and the freedom to learn and experiment in other crafts. This center is the first of its kind to offer an outdoor sculpture gallery in India. Their unique sculpture garden displays large works for visitors to enjoy on their way to an indoor gallery, which houses smaller-scale sculptures and two-dimensional works.

Artists’ Night Out 2017

Sculpture Society (Singapore) is proud to partner with Nparks, to present Artists’ Night Out 2017!

Artists’ Night Out 2017 will take place on 25 & 26 August 2017, at Dhoby Ghaut Green (urban park adjacent to Dhoby Ghaut MRT). Done in conjunction with the iconic Singapore Night Festival headed by National Heritage Board, this event is an annual affair for NParks, and a platform to showcase our city parks and our programming partners.

The 6th CDL Singapore Sculpture Award

The CDL Singapore Sculpture Award is an extension of the Group’s patronage of the development of arts and youth in Singapore.

First initiated and introduced by CDL in 2002, the biennial Award is now into its 6th year.

The Belt and Road — QingDao Sculpture Exhibition 2017
